Mrs. Simmons
Over the course of this school year I will have many opportunities to learn all sorts of things about your child. I also hope to get to know about each of you as well since a better understanding of where your child comes from will help me take them further academically. Because you are trusting me with your most prized possession, it is only fair that I provide a little background information on myself.
This is my eleventh year working for Jackson County Schools. I taught third grade for six of those years, but I moved to kindergarten five years ago and I absolutely love it!! I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from North Georgia College and State University (the name has changed now.) My Master’s is from Walden University in Reading and Literacy, and I have a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College.
My husband, Mike, works as a delivery driver for PartsPlus in Winder. My daughter, Hope, graduated from JCCHS and is currently working while she waits for college to start. My son, Jake, is a Senior at JCCHS and is #43 under the Friday Night Lights. Go Panthers!!
I love to read, watch movies, and work in my garden. Some of my favorite things are football, Red Lobster, the color pink, and caramel flavored anything!! I hope this info helps you get to know me just a little better. I am looking forward to a great year!!
